Delft: Northern Excursion

This weekend, eight students decided to head North and explore some other wonderful European cities. At 5 a.m. on Saturday, we made our way to a train to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and caught our flight to Copenhagen, Denmark.

When we arrived, we stopped at a food court and got some porridge to fuel up for the day before dropping our bags at the hostel locker and hitting the town.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and we did lots of walking, shopping, sightseeing, and people watching in the crowded city.

In the evening, we took a quick rest at the hostel before getting ready to head back out to an outdoor food court (Reffen) and check out the nightlife.

On Sunday morning we stopped for some pastries at a nearby bakery and then made our way to a public dock on the canal to do a quick polar plunge. It was a great, refreshing way to start the day. We then headed to the train station and made our way to Malmo, Sweden where we looked around the city, got some food, and sunbathed. Then it was time to go back to the airport and make the journey back to Delft.

Overall, we loved Copenhagen a lot and enjoyed seeing the city’s infrastructure, but after a packed 40 hours, we were all excited to make it back to our “home away from home” in Delft and get to bed.
