When Mikale entered the field of nursing in 2012, she recognized the importance of exceptional nursing programs that went above the basic requirements and treated students as holistic individuals. This recognition not only spurred her to seek excellent education for herself, but also inspired her to improve access to high quality education. This is one of the reasons Mikale is excited to work with the Jesuit-based mission of Gonzaga and be a part of offering students an exceptional nursing education. Mikale’s experience ranges from psychiatric to forensic to surgical nursing. She also has a safety engineering background, which has allowed her to engage in risk analysis and management in the healthcare field. Mikale is continuously inspired by the passion and dedication students show. Mikale completed a post-doctoral certificate in Forensic Nursing at Duquesne University in 2024.
