On-Campus Scholarly & Creative Work Opportunities
On-campus scholarly and creative work opportunities is expected, encouraged, and rewarded. Workshops, seminars, and other programs help faculty and staff build intercultural competence and incorporate diverse and global perspectives into their teaching, research, service, administrative responsibilities, and local-global community connections. Gonzaga supports this best practice by providing the following opportunities:
- International Student Academic Advisory Board a group of faculty that have training/teaching/research/general interest in teaching international students in the US higher education system. Our goal is to create more support services for faculty.
- International Education Council Global Engagement Faculty Development Fund, provided by the International Education Council
Faculty and Staff Mobility Opportunities
- Mukogawa Women's University (Nishinomiya, Japan) Faculty Exchange - application extended to June 21, 2024.
- China Scholarship Council - China International Scholarly Exchange Curriculum - application period closed May 10, 2024
- Create your own opportunities via Gonzaga's International Agreements and Partnerships procedures and guidelines.
- Explore creating and teaching a short-term, Faculty Led Study Abroad course via the Study Abroad Office
Hosting international scholars
- Host a Visiting Global Scholar (J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa)
- Host a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant or a Scholar in Residence via Fulbright opportunities
- Engage with the Diplomat in Residence - Northwest (AK, Northern CA, OR, WA)
