Third Party Payments

Here’s What You Need to Know:

• Third-Party Sponsorship means a third party (such as an employer, government agency, or other organization) makes a payment to cover your tuition and fees.There still may be charges that a sponsored student is responsible for (e.g., program fees). Third party sponsorship includes payments made upfront after receiving an invoice, not where the student must pay first and then get reimbursement from the third party.

• Billing Statements – For most registered students, Gonzaga will issue a statement of account six weeks before the semester starts, or within three business days of your registration.
  
  
• Payment Authorization – You must submit a Purchase Order (PO), voucher, or a written statement from the third-party sponsor confirming their intent to pay on the organization's letterhead. Please send to studentaccounts@gonzaga.edu. This must be received by the Student Accounts Office no later than the semester's statement of account deadline.
  
  
• Invoicing the Sponsor – Gonzaga will send an invoice to your third-party sponsor about one month after the term begins. The sponsor is expected to make payment according to the invoice terms.
  
  
• Your Financial Responsibility – If your sponsor does not cover the full amount of your tuition and fees, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance. Any unpaid charges will follow the university’s standard billing policies.
  
  

  Checklist of What Your Sponsorship Letter Should Include
