Earn 2 Degrees
Gonzaga offers you the option of pursuing both your Master’s in Communication and Leadership (COML) and your Master’s in Organizational Leadership (ORGL).
Our dual degree pathway is for anyone who wants to gain more expertise in both communication and leadership while saving time and money.
Requirements
- Apply and be accepted to both programs.
- You must enroll in one program first and then you can enroll in the other program in a following semester, e.g. COML in Fall, ORGL in Spring, COML in Summer, ORGL in Fall, etc.
- You must apply for graduation from both COML and ORGL at the same time as both degrees must have the same degree granting date.
Program Details
- 48 Credits
- 21 Core Credits
- 27 Elective Credits - you can choose classes from either COML or ORGL.
Core Classes - 21 Credits
4 Required Courses - 12 Credits - No Choice
- COML 595, COML 598
- ORGL 600, ORGL 615
3 Required Courses - 9 Credits - Choice
You will chose one course from each of the following three pairs of core classes.
- COML 599 or ORGL 605
- COML 597 or ORGL 610
- COML 602 or ORGL 620
For example, you could choose: ORGL 605, COML 597 and COML 602.
You cannot combine classes from each pair listed above for your core requirements, meaning you could not choose ORGL 610 and COML 597.

Optional Concentrations
- You can choose to earn a concentration depending on your elective choices.
Once you graduate with one of the degrees, you cannot enroll in the dual degree pathway after the fact.
