Financing Options

There are several ways to fund your graduate education, including federal financial aid, employer tuition reimbursement and scholarships.

Graduate program tuition is billed differently than undergraduate tuition. You only pay for the credits you are enrolled in each term plus any fees.

Federal Financial Aid

Unlike undergraduate aid, federal financial aid for a master’s or doctoral degree is not based on need.

Eligible students can receive up to $20,500 per year in the form or student loans.

• Students must complete the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually to be eligible.
• Gonzaga University’s school code is 0033778.
• Applicants must be a matriculated student in a graduate program to receive federal financial aid.

Secure Current Grad PLUS Loan Benefits Before Federal Changes Take Effect

• Major changes to federal graduate student loans take effect July 1, 2026, including the elimination of Grad PLUS Loans for new borrowers and reduced borrowing limits.
• If you started your graduate program in Fall 2025 or plan to start in Spring 2026, and borrow a Grad PLUS Loan, you’ll remain eligible under current borrowing limits, which allows you to borrow up to your full cost of attendance. FAFSA submission required.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement

Many companies offer tuition reimbursement as a benefit to finance your education. Check with your company’s benefits department to find out about this valuable option.

Scholarships

• Upon completion of an application, individuals will be eligible to receive an internal scholarship. If awarded, this scholarship will be applied to your student account every term. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award at the time of admission.
• Gonzaga's Financial Aid Office maintains a database of scholarships for students to access, search and apply for awards.
• AmeriCorps members receive a $1,000 scholarship each year they meet enrollment eligibility within a Gonzaga graduate program.

Payment Plans

Gonzaga University offers payment plans to assist you in financing your education.

Typical options include paying your balance in full each semester or paying your balance in monthly installments to make your payments more manageable.

If you choose this option you will work with our Student Accounts office to set up a payment plan.
