SSIP FAQ

  • Does "full scholarship" mean this is free?
  • Yes! Special thanks to the SSIP Sponsors for investing in future female engineers and computer scientists.
  • What is included?
  • Five nights lodging in a Gonzaga University dorm, daily lunch and dinner, plus breakfast snacks. Materials for all activities are included.
  • What do I need to apply?
  • The application form includes a short essay about yourself and why you want to participate in SSIP. We also need your high school to send us a transcript -- an unofficial version is fine. Finally, one of your current STEM teachers or a counselor will need to submit a letter of support. Information is available at the School Letters of Support page.
  • When will I find out if I was selected?
  • Program participants will be notified by email by March 31, 2025. You will need to confirm your acceptance of the scholarship and participation with the SSIP staff leader, Mary Hunt, prior to April 14, 2025.
  • How many women can participate?
  • We anticipate accommodating a total of 15 high school women (rising juniors or seniors).
  • I’m not in Spokane, are travel funds available to get to Gonzaga?
  • Small travel grants are available for accepted SSIP students. After your application is accepted, contact SEAS.
Applications are due MARCH 3, 2025.
