OUR House, Gonzaga’s Colligate Recovery Community, is a community of students connecting through similar experiences and efforts to stop or reduce their use of substances or other potentially harmful behaviors. We welcome students exploring both sobriety or reduced use. Our physical location on campus exists as a space to study, hold meetings, hangout, and get to know other students.
OUR House seeks to ensure students do not have to choose between their recovery and their education. Through involvement in OUR House, Zags are empowered to take individual responsibility for their well-being while belonging to a community of support.
Follow us on Instagram @gonzaga.recovery or email Recovery@gonzaga.edu for additional information.
OUR House hosts weekly drop-in hours. These are for students curious about recovery or harm reduction to ask questions, get support and build community.
- Mondays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm
- Fridays from 10:00am to 12:00pm
We also host weekly all-recovery meetings where students come together to talk about what’s going on in their lives and anything else that might benefit their recovery.
- Mondays from 3:00pm to 4:00 pm
- Thursdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm
Meetings and drop-in hours are hosted at 1320 N Dakota St (across from Health & Counseling Services).
OUR House members are also invited to attend weekly community lunches.
- Fridays from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
We realize students who come to our program may not already be sober, may identify as in recovery from something other than substance use, or may not be aiming for complete sobriety. Gonzaga has relationships with facilities off-campus for detox, inpatient treatment, and outpatient treatment services. Depending on the student’s needs for treatment, it may even be possible to stay in school while completing outpatient services.
We have an open door policy and invite all students curious about getting sober, or our community, to contact us or stop by during drop-in hours.
Gonzaga's recovery community is not affiliated with any specific outside recovery program. Our meetings are group discussion based and open to any Gonzaga student interested in or curious about living a recovery lifestyle.
We have a fully equipped kitchen, with a full size refrigerator/freezer combination, a stove, oven, microwave, and of course a coffee maker. We have a sturdy wooden table in the kitchen that sits six people, and is another place that students can work on homework in the house. Students are free to use the kitchen for any purpose. There are also a lot of art supplies stored in the kitchen: crayons, colored pencils, markers, canvasses, and an assortment of other craft materials.
There is a desktop computer that is provided by the University for student usage, with lots of desk space surrounding the computer. We also have access to a printer, which prints in both black/white and color and is free of charge for students. There is an iHome to play music, or to listen to the radio. There is also a BluRay player connected to the TV and a landline phone available for emergency calls.
Other Amenities: there is a wheelchair ramp access for OUR House, a meeting room, a full bathroom, and a yoga/meditation room. We are really trying to provide a comfortable and safe space for students in recovery to gather and play games, watch TV, or study together. Please don’t hesitate to contact OHP staff for any alternate requests associated with the house.
OUR House is directly across from the Twohy residence hall on N. Cincinnati Street. The house has beautiful architecture and character, and is fully heated for our winter months. There is access to the high speed on-campus WiFi available at the house. Students that regularly attend meetings and events will have access to OUR House 24/7.
