- Chinese language is not currently offered at Gonzaga.
- A Regional Concentration focused on Asia is offered as a major and minor in the International Studies Department. Chinese language proficiency is one of the requirements that compliment that major/minor. Students interested in the Chinese language are encouraged to consider a major and minor in International Studies and to investigate the options for studying Chinese through summer study, courses taken at other universities and transferred to Gonzaga, or study abroad.
You can study the Chinese language during your time at Gonzaga in one the following ways
Transfer courses: Gonzaga students can take Chinese courses at other universities, including suitable online classes, to transfer to Gonzaga. Students interested in taking Chinese in this way should contact the Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literature for further information.
Study Abroad: Gonzaga students can study Chinese for the semester while being immersed in Chinese culture via two programs in Beijing and Shanghai. Visit the Study Abroad office in Hemmingson, first floor, for more information.Summer option: Via an intensive, beginning to advanced Chinese language program in the United States, such as the 8-week Middlebury Summer Language School
