All on-campus undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students at Gonzaga University are automatically enrolled in a Student Accidental Injury Insurance Plan. The purpose of this plan is to cover accidental injuries that occur on campus or during University-sponsored off-campus events. This plan helps students cover the upfront cost associated with an accident claims, after their primary insurance has paid. Basic medical expenses associated with the accident may be covered at 100% with no deductible.
For the full details of this plan, please review the 2024-2025 Plan Guide at this link. For guides to prior years of the plan, please contact our office.
Who is covered under this plan?
All undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students enrolled in on-campus programs at Gonzaga University are automatically enrolled in this plan.
Students in the following programs are not covered under this plan: Master of Initial Teaching, Canada-based programs, Virtual Campus, online graduate and doctoral programs in the School of Health Sciences.
Does this plan cost extra?
If you are an on-campus undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student, this plan is covered through your tuition and fees.
Is this a health insurance plan?
This plan alone does not meet the required coverage amount under the Affordable Care Act. It serves to supplement your other medical coverage. For many of our students who have catastrophic plans or are out-of-network in the Spokane area, this plan helps to cover those costs that your primary insurance may not cover for accidents and injuries related to school-sponsored activities.
How do I file a claim?
A-G Specialty Insurance LLC (“A‐G”) is the plan administrator for the Gonzaga University’s Secondary Injury Medical Expense Program. A‐G is secondary to all other valid medical coverage held by the student. All charges must be submitted to the student’s primary insurance carrier for processing, prior to any payments made by A‐G on behalf of the student.
To make payment for an outstanding charge on student’s claim, A‐G must receive three pieces of information to be considered a valid claim (see page 4 at this link).
