To Request A Reduced Course Load

1. Determine if your situation is acceptable for a reduced course load. Read the section "Acceptable Reasons for a Reduced Course Load" below or contact the ISSS for more information.

2. Complete this request and select the reason for your reduced course load in your ISSS portal: https://isss.gonzaga.edu/

3. Request approval from:

  • Academic Advisor - If you have selected reason: Academic Difficulty
  • Doctor - If you have selected reason: Medical Reason

4. Create/submit this request to the ISSS. Once reviewed, an ISSS advisor will notify you of the decision with an updated I-20.

  • The deadline for submitting a request for reduced courseload is the first day of the semester or before the add/drop date
  • If you plan to drop below the full course minimum during a semester in progress, you must submit this request to ISSS PRIOR to withdrawing from your course(s)
