Gonzaga University participates in the Tuition Exchange and FACHEX (Faculty and Staff Children Exchange) Programs. Tuition Exchange is a reciprocal scholarship program for eligible faculty and staff at participating colleges and universities, and provides scholarships to qualified employee dependents. FACHEX is similar to Tuition Exchange, but specific to Jesuit colleges and universities, and provides scholarships to qualified employee dependents from other Jesuit Universities. Both programs are available for undergraduate studies, with priority given to freshmen applying to Gonzaga.

FAQs
To be eligible for Tuition Exchange (TE) or FACHEX, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a dependent child of a full-time faculty or staff member employed at a participating institution.
- The home institution's Human Resources (HR) office is responsible for determining eligibility. The Financial Aid Office does not make this determination.
Follow these steps to apply:
- The student must submit a Tuition Exchange and/or FACHEX application to their home institution by November 15th.
- Work closely with your home institution's HR Office to ensure you are certified as eligible.
- Once certified, your home institution will submit your name to Gonzaga as a potential applicant.
- Separately, you must also apply for admission to Gonzaga through the Early Action process, with an application deadline of November 15th.
- Yes, if your home institution participates in both programs, and the school you are applying to (such as Gonzaga) also participates in both programs, you are welcome to apply for both.
- Filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is not a requirement for TE/FACHEX consideration.
- However, Gonzaga strongly encourages all students to submit the FAFSA to be considered for other forms of financial aid.
- TE and FACHEX Scholarships are highly competitive, and Gonzaga typically receives many more applications than it can award each year.
- TE and FACHEX scholarships are not guaranteed. Selection is based on a combination of factors including:
- Strength of student's admission application.
- Student's demonstrated interest in Gonzaga.
- Availability of scholarships in a given year.
- If awarded, the combination of all aid from Gonzaga will cover full tuition during fall and spring semesters.
- Students are still responsible for fees, room, board, books, and other direct and indirect expenses.
- The scholarship also covers tuition for Gonzaga sponsored study abroad programs that take place during fall or spring semesters.
- Yes, the scholarship is typically renewable for up to four years (or eight semesters) as long as the student:
- Remains enrolled full-time at Gonzaga University.
- Maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Renewal is also contingent on continued eligibility certification from the home institution each year.
- Scholarship decisions are typically made after admission decisions are released, usually in late February or early March.
- TE and FACHEX decisions will come separately from your admission decision, but are most often included in your financial aid package.
- Yes. Students not selected for TE or FACHEX will be considered for:
- Gonzaga institutional scholarships and grants.
- Need-based financial aid (if you filed a FAFSA application).
