Grants

Grants come in the form of Institutional Grants, Federal Grants and Washington State Grants.  Institutional grants are also referred to as Grants from Gonzaga.  During the upcoming school year Gonzaga University will offer more than $31 million in institutional grant and scholarship funding.  The following information pertains to undergraduate financial aid only.  For information on graduate aid, please refer to our Graduate Doctoral Aid webpage.

If you choose to attend Gonzaga University, we guarantee your Gonzaga-funded scholarships and grants will not decrease if you maintain good academic standing, as defined in the Gonzaga catalog, during your continuous full-time four-year enrollment. These scholarships are renewable as established by the Gonzaga Guarantee.

To determine eligibility for grants, students are encouraged to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Want to complete the FAFSA Application?

*If not eligible to submit the FAFSA, undocumented students can submit the WASFA or Needs Analysis Form to determine eligibility for Grants from Gonzaga.  More information is available at the Undocumented Undergraduate Aid webpage.

Federal Grants

The federal government provides Pell Grants to students who demonstrate the highest level of financial need as calculated by the federal formula for Student Aid Index (SAI). Pell Grants are offered only to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor's or professional degree. For the 2024-25 school year, Pell Grant amount varies, up to $7,395/year.

Students with the highest level of financial need may also be offered an SEOG. The source of this funding is the federal government; the selection of recipients is determined by the institution. Gonzaga University gives full-time Pell Grant recipients who meet our December 1st priority filing deadline with the highest priority for this financial aid offer. SEOG does not have to be repaid and the amount varies, up to $1,250/year.

This is a $4,000 annual grant/loan offered to students who agree to teach for four years as a highly-qualified teacher in a high-need field at a low-income school after completing their degree. If the four year service requirement is not met, the funds must be repaid by the student as an unsubsidized Stafford loan. For more information, please see Federal Student Aid.
