Why are you in admissions at Gonzaga?

I’m in admissions because I really value connection and getting to know students as they explore their college options. My goal is to help students see what’s possible for them and find a place where they feel supported and can thrive! When I was younger, I often questioned whether higher education was the right path for me because of my background and experiences. Over time, I realized that it was possible, and having people who encouraged me made a huge difference. That’s something I hope to be for students now!

What’s your favorite place on campus?

Lake Arthur! I grew up along the Columbia River, so I’ve always loved being around water. It’s a great place to sit, relax, and soak up the sun. If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet during the day, that’s the place to go.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Spokane?

I love being outdoors, plus Spokane has so much to offer! There’s hiking, skiing, swimming, biking, and many other activities. I especially enjoy walking with my dog, Benito. Two of our favorite spots are High Drive Bluff Park and the riverfront in Kendall Yards.

Advice for prospective students:

Starting something new can bring a lot of uncertainty, but it’s also an amazing opportunity for growth. College is a chance to discover new interests, meet people from different backgrounds, and learn more about yourself. This is a time to explore what excites you. I hope you get involved in things that matter to you and don’t be afraid to try something new! Remember that everyone’s path in college looks a little different and that’s a good thing. Your experience should reflect your own goals, interests, and needs.
