Why are you in admissions at Gonzaga?
I moved to Spokane in 2018 and immediately fell in love with the city and the academic community that is its beating heart. I’ve found a safe and welcoming home in Gonzaga Admissions, serving this community and the students of the inland Northwest. I believe higher education (and its role in ensuring a society with a diverse and involved educated populace) is vital to the health of the world, from the grass-roots level all the way to the macro-systematic top. It feels lucky to be a part of supporting that ecosystem, supporting students and families in their pursuit of growing through study, reflection, and action.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
I like lots of places on campus, but I’m particularly fond of College Hall. It’s a beautiful old building with awesome woodwork, stained glass, stonework, and masonry. It’s also the oldest building still in use on campus, over 125 years old! The Office of Admission is based in College Hall, on the first floor. Come say hi!
What is your favorite thing to do in Spokane?
Disc Golf! Spokane has an amazing outdoor scene, and my favorite outdoor activity is disc. We have three challenging 18-hole courses—Whitewater DGC, Highbridge Park, and Jamboree DGC, all within a twenty-minute drive of campus, plus a nice beginner-friendly 18 at Liberty Park, just a five-minute drive from campus! The river and the natural basalt and ponderosa landscape of the area is featured beautifully on each of these. Pick up a frisbee and give it a try!
